I bought the 6'3" M spinning rod yesterday.  The XML are on sale for $70-90 right now.  I'm going to use this for dock skipping...so just wanting to know if you own this rod how do you like it.

It seems to be put together nicely w/ very good components, it has Fuji Alconite guides & the one I have has split grips.

I have 10 of these rods.  Excellent rod for the money.  I think you will be very pleased with your purchase.

I have 2 of the XML spinning and they are great rods and even better  when you catch them on sale as you did. I have 2 6'6" M and they are great and very sensitive and have a great warranty from Cabelas.

I have 3 XML rods all baitcasters.  Two 6'6" MH and my latest addition is a 7'6" flippin stick that I haven't gotten wet as yet.  Put the balance kit on all three and really like them.  

I caught the last one on sale and now I see where they knocked another $10 off the sale price.  What is that tugging on my Checkbook ? Surely not that dreaded "monkey" again !

Well, I guess you can't get the additional $10 off on the one you just bought BUT, from what I just saw there are a batch of spinning and baitcasting rods that they have dropped to $69.99 and $79.99.  Considering how I paid full price for my first 2 I might be able to find just enough room for one more  :

Reckon you will have to compromise and go with a "general purpose" model.   That could save ya $20.  

They had marked them down to $89.99 when I bought my last one and I didn't notice that the 6'3" spinning rod was the same price.  Either way that's a great price for the XML rods.

1. What action do these rods have? Customer Service said they weren't listed but said they are most likely mod to mod/fast. Is this accurate?

2. How would the sensitivity compare to a shimano crucial? I am looking for a good 6'6 medium fast action rod and the sale on these got me interested.

They are great rods and when you can get them on sale or clearance even a better deal. I got my XMLTi on clearance for $89 as well and love the actions and sensitivity of them all.

No the actions aren't listed and I would say the best way to tell would be hands on. I agree that those actions and think my 6'6" M is a mod. action.

Far as comparison to the crucial I really couldn't say since the majority of my rods are Cabelas with the exception of the Berkley Amp I just added to try as a crankbait rod.

SO who makes the XML &/or XMLTi blanks???  I hear Loomis makes them or it's a Crucial blank for the XML...this is starting to sound like an URBAN LEGEND!  All I know that they are made in China.
