You can save yourself $4 per bottle if you go to the mfg. site and buy the "cosmetic-special". Nothing wrong with the product. Labels have blemishes. http://cleverinnovations.net/details/category/4/prodid/83/ Shortbasser

Cleaning Cork and Reels.
U-40 cork seal available from Cabela's works just fine. Keeps the tacky feel and only requires water and a rag to clean afterwards. I wipe my rod blanks with a silicone cloth made by Birchwood Casey also available from Cabela's. Shortbasser

Trolling Motor Question
No doubt a replacement part available for it. The warranty is probably a toss-up on how long you have owned it. A good place for info to find out is here. http://www.motortechva.com/ The place is in Suffolk and you can get the 800 number off the website. Ask to talk to Tom. He is the owner. Shortbasser

Hampton Roads guys, need help/info....
Hang onto that rig. I live in Va. Beach and run a Skeeter and have been fishing West Neck Creek for over 30 years. It dumps into the North Landing River (intercoastal waterway). I am about 20 minutes from the water. You can also fish the Northwest River. Only catch there is it just happens to run into NC and you have to be aware of where your at if you don't have a NC license. There are tournaments on both waters most weeks. I will zip you a PM with my contact info and if and when you head this way give me a shout. Shortbasser

Stanley Ribbit
I skin hook it. It will pop loose but I haven't had a problem getting it hung up. Just have to be careful of those sharp hooks! when you rig it. Shortbasser

Stanley Ribbit
If it is the regular Ribbit and not the Floater you can get a better hook-up ratio using the Stanley Double Take Hook. I use it and it helps. The Double Take Hook will sink the Floater version. Shortbasser

Boat Storage
I have been keeping my rig in a public storage lot/shed since the day I got it. Access is from 7:00AM-10:00 PM. The City of Virginia Beach has an ordinance that keeps all boats and RV's from the front of your house. It can be alongside of the house but back behind the front. I live in a townhouse so I have no choice but to comply. It is permissable to keep it in the driveway over-night for loading/unloading. No on street parking permitted. During the summer I push the issue and keep it in the driveway since I am fishing a good bit. I have been given a notice in the past. Grumpy neighbors will turn me in. I now keep those folks happy with a few fish and so far this summer no notices. It's a pain but we live with it. If you come to town with a boat and trailer and park it in a driveway or on the street they will find it and give you a notice. So much for catering to the tourists. We are a big time salt water fishing area. Just don't bring your rig to town and park it where it is visible. Shortbasser

Mend It! Glue
Never leave home without it. Best soft plastic glue I ever used. It will not glue your fingers together like super glues. Dries quick. Has saved me a few bucks too. Shortbasser

Stanley Double Frog Hooks?
The double hook/floater Ribbit will NOT work. I tried that combination yesterday and it sinks like a rock. Really had to speed up the retrieve to keep it on top. I skin hook the double hook and that pretty much keeps the grass problem to a minimum. Shortbasser

Kipawa Trolling Motor Propellers
I bought one several years ago for my MG before Merc came along and bought the MG series and re-named it a Hydrilla Hacker. Still running it on my new MG and definitely like it over the stock prop. Not sure you can still buy it from the folks at MG (Merc). Kipawa no longer sells props for MG trolling motors. They are worth the money. Shortbasser

Ragetail baits and Chiggercraws
Best thing I found for repairing my Rage Tails and any other soft plastics is a product called Mend-It. Soft plastic glue that does not stick to your fingers. Dries quick and stays soft. You can find it at Tackle Warehouse. Bream (bluegill) chewing off the legs and tails of soft plastics are something we just have to live with. Shortbasser

Strike King Rage Tails are the STUFF!
Mend-it works fine for repairing Rage Tail baits. It is the only glue I use. It will NOT glue the bait to your fingers like the super glue products. I have even saved the legs on some crawfish. It stays soft and pliable too. Well worth the cost. Shortbasser

Johnson Engine Problems
The Coast Guard sticker next to the throttle lists the max HP for your Nitro. My guess would be 150. Here is a link to a good source for props new and used. I have been having my prop work done there for a long time. http://www.murphyspropellers.com/. Shortbasser

KVD Line Conditioner??
I spray all my reels after a day of fishing. Most of the time I don't let it dry on the body of the reel. It will displace water and it has stopped the corrosion problems I had from the brackish water. No reduction in casting distance. I have been using it for several years. Good stuff. Shortbasser
