Rigging a Rage Tail Sapce Monkey

Featured Replies

How do you rig and fish a Space Monkey ;)

Thanks for any help ;)

Texas rig it.  Fish it any way you would any other soft plastic.

I rig mine on a 5/0 EWG hook with a 1/8 oz. weight with a glass bead and one of my daughters fluorescent chartreuse beads, t-rigged with the Palomar knot. I follow the instructions on the back of the package as well for tips.

I let the fish tell me how they want it but I usually swim it back keeping it a foot or two beneath the water.

I rig mine using a weighted swimbait EWG hook ( I use gamakatsu). I've had good experiences swimming it back slowly in small ponds I fish. But I normally fish it in larger waters around submerged grass just like a T-rig or swim it back.

I rig mine on an Owner Spiral Lock 4/0 1/8 weighted hook.  I slow roll it about a foot under the surface.  This bait has produced more fish for me than any other bait I've used since the Rage tail line was introduced.

My favorite way to rig them, is Tex rigged on a heavy wire 5/0 screw lock-type hook like a Moaner. Great flipping bait, weightless, keel weighted on the bottom, jig trailer, or even topwater bait.

I fish it  weightless on a 4/0 superline hook and swim it like a soft plastic frog over any cover.  I also use the used ones a jig trailers.  Really the only RT bait I've had much luck with, but I've had some great luck with it.

Thanks everyone. I can't wait to try these out. ;)

on a Owner 5/0 wide gap plus hook and a Tru-tungsten 1/8 to 1/4oz screw in weight.. I pitch this bait a lot and have caught a lot of really good fish on them.
