E21 power and action??

Featured Replies

Hey friends. I can see that in the US people is talking a lot about the E21 rods, but here in Europe where I live I have not the chance to have one in my hands before purchase it, so I must buy directly from the US.

Because of that I need a comoparison of their power and action to a rod that I own (different models of St Croix and Gloomis), so could you compare for me a MH fast E21 Gold Stix to a tipical MH Fast St Croix (or GLoomis if you want), please.

And I have another cuestion, are the guides of the Boyd Duckett and Gold Stix different?

Thank you and sorry because my English, I'm doing my best :-[

I have a 6'10'' MH fast e21 Carrot Gold Stix and a 7'MH Fast St Croix Avid.  The action of the e21 seems slower than the St. Croix, definitely goes into the backbone lower on the rod.  I also have a 6'9''MH fast e21 Carrot Stix LTX which is much stiffer than the gold.  I use the gold for shallow-medium cranks and topwater.

Thank you for the info guys!!

Now I know what I need about the power and action, but let me ask you one more question. Do you think that the Boyd Duckett worth's the extra-money or I must go on with the Gold?

I will use the rod for light soft plastics, some little topwater lures and shallow cranck's and I'm thinking about a 6'6 M fast.
