Powell rods on tackle warehouse...

Featured Replies

I'm looking at the powell max spinning rods, has any one use either the: 6' Med XF 603MEF or the 6' Med Hvy EF. What are your opinions on these, how much more stiff is the med hvy than the hvy? Would the med hvy be too stiff to throw weightless plastics on. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!

I don't have these two spinning rods but I have four other Powell models.  Their medium-heavy rating works great with weightless plastics.

does the tip have flex or give or is it stiff with the use of soft plastics?

The tip is softer than advertised. Their extra-fast is not extra-fast in my book but that's a good thing. The tip flexes just the way I want it too with soft plastics.
