St. Croix Avid AVC70MHF vs. AVC66MHF

Featured Replies

A few days ago I asked for some input on a new spinnerbait rod. A number of you recommended the Avid AVC70MHF. What is the advantage of the 7'0" rod, vs. the 6'6" AVC70MHF? At present, the closest thing I own is a Powell 733CEF (7'3" med hvy, extra fast) that I bought used from a friend. I want the greatest versatility possible.

Thanks

im gonna guess and say better hook sets and better casting distance and accuracy. i may be wrong

I find it's easier to make more accurate casts with a shorter rod.  Longer rod = longer cast

i use my 7'0" mhf avid for worms and jigs. I throw spinnerbaits on my 6'6" mf avid

I have an Avid 7'0" MH rod and use it for everything but finnesse applications. It is also the shortest rod I own as of now.
