Quantum PT Rods

Featured Replies

Looking at getting one of these for flipping 1/8 - 1/4 oz soft plastics.  Any experience with these? My preference would be a 7ft. MH but not sure about its stiffness or how well it would work?

You cant really flip 1/8-1/4oz. plastics with a MH. The bait is simply not heavy enough. I would say 7' M action would be better for this application. About the Quantum PT rods I have no experience with them so I cant say anything.

Which model PT rods are you looking at?

I own 2 Energy PT's and really like both of them! The two I have are the 7' MHF (QEC706F) and the 7'6" HF (QEC767FT). The 7' I use for soft plastics (worms, lizards, creatures) and the 7'6" is for flippin and pitchin tubes and jigs.

That should help you out! If you have any questions, let me know.

I was looking at the 7' MHF, don't let the "flippin" comment fool you, thats just what i call whenever i throw my lizards, worms, etc.  But thanks that sounds like it could work.

Only ones I have seen have been in for repairs. The guides kept coming out from under the wraps. Seem like decent rods though.

I'd suggest looking close at the guides and making sure they are secure. The ones I have had come in didn't have enough rod finish to even cover the ends of the thread wraps.
