RW, would you like to respond to this one?

i actually pm'd him but guess hes off for the day...need some input before this rod gets sold on me like the last one i was about to buy

The 843 is more moderate than the 783... the 844 is a great 1/2 oz jig rod as well - especially for heavier cover.  I also like it for larger casting jigs in open water... if you find a deal, jump on it!  I love it for 1 oz spinnerbaits!

I sold mine, and glad I did.

The rod is a VERY NICE , light sensitive rod, no doubt about it. But for jigs, it's a bit short, and a bit weak. Or at least for my liking.

It was a much better senko rod than anything else. I even used it to drop shot.

You said you don't fish heavy cover though, so you should be just fine with the rod.
