2 New Rods

Featured Replies

BPS is having their triple points special tomorrow night and I am wanting to pick up a couple new rods.

Right now I am leaning towards 2 Shimano Crucials.

1. 6' 10" MH/XF, spinner baits, buzz baits

2. 7' MH/F, jigs

Would these 2 rods be a good choice, or I am better off to go to elsewhere and maybe consider a couple Kistler Magnesium rods?

I am wanting to stay right at around $160 a rod $320 for a pair.

Or am I better off to go ahead and swallow it and buy the Loomis IMX MBR844C?

These are the rods available to me locally, without having to order.

Thanks, :)

I have owned both the Crucial and the Magnesium line and i would not hesitate to choose the magnesium. It is more sensitive, lighter and stronger than the Crucial IMO! For jigs the Jig n Toad can't be beat man!

Thanks, the Jig N Toad is one of the rods I am looking at along with the 6' 9" all purpose rod.

You should also consider the St. Croix Avid in that price range.

Nobody has any Avids in stock.  That was one I was considering.

Avid or used LTB. I just like to feel of the Avid more than my Crucial's (2). Doesn't mean they aren't nice, but I just prefer St. Croix. On a side note, I did purchase my first IMX which should be here Monday.Decided on it over the 6'6 MH Avid or Crucial I was looking for awhile here on the board.

I checked and both *** and Bpro (online) have them. Wait for the next 15% off at TW and you'll be in like Flint. Obviously no triple points for TW but 15% would seem to be better (plus free shipping). I assume Bpro online won't give you the triple points as well; or more like I'd be surprised if they did.

Yep you guessed it.  In store only.  Oh well.

Well after looking at the Kistler Magnesium rods I decided against them.  I then looked at the Falcon Cara rods and decided to go with 2 of these rods.  Very very nice rods.

I just sold two that would have fit your bill for $130 each. Great rods, I just hate the new ACS reel seats.

Really, that is one of the things that I really liked about these rods.
