P-Line Fluorocarbon Over Time

Featured Replies

I bought a Curado E200 this spring and spooled it up with 12 lb P Line fluorocarbon.  I've used it quite a bit since then.  Recently I've noticed that the line seems a bit stiff and tends to blossom up on the spool more often than I remembered in past months.  I just got out the original spool of line and it appears to be more flexible.  I used line conditioner in the past but stopped using it because it was a nuisance to keep applying it and I made everything feel greasy.  Two questions, does anyone have any experience with this line getting stiffer as you use it for several months?  Secondly, is it possible that the line conditioner contributed to the line stiffness?

Thanks in advance.

I feel like KVD Line and Lure made my line even more stiff if I didn't re-apply.

i have a scorpion mg spooled with 6 lb P Line fluorocarbon, but i don't give line more than 3 or 4 trips, so in 3 - 6 months it looks like the day i putit on the reel

To be fair the line conditioner I was using was the Ardent product, Line Butter, that I got at BPS.  In any case I don't use it anymore and have adopted a "less is better" attitude regarding what I put on my line.  In the meantime I've respooled with Yo Zuri 10lb Hybrid.  I really do like the stuff even though I bought it for my spinning rig.

Hope you don't get branded a liar and thanks for the 2 cents worth.
