wich line is stronger ? i want to use this for swimbaits . i just had 20# cxx snap about 20 yds. up my line while fishing a 8'' hudd . just want some input as to wich line would be better . this will be spooled on a Toro model 50 ( 14/200) so line capacity is not too much of an issue . i am looking at 20 , 25 , and 30 lb. test lines . anybody use these # tests in Yo-zuri hybrid ?? any help would be appreciated  

Sounds like you're blaming CXX for something that wasn't it's fault.  Line breakage that far into the spool indicates a kink or weak spot.

You won't find a stronger, more abrasion resistant line than CXX.  While I haven't used Hybrid in those diameters, I have been using the 12 lb. all summer on a deep crankbait situation.  I've found it to be very susceptible to abrasion and rocks.

I use the same stuff and I have also found the same thing. I thought I was the only one. I recently bought a spool of Trilene 100% to use for leaders when I'm fishing in rocks and such.

You're definitely not the only one.  I've spent my last three nights on the water retying every 10-15 casts.  That Hybrid has been replaced with CXX 8 lb.

It 's very easy to to put the blame on the product, it makes you feel good and if there 's somene you can blame for your neglect you will do it.

If you never check the condition of your line you will continue to experience such problems no matter which line you are fishing with.

A couple of my reels have CXX spooled in, the ones I use to fish the really nasty stuff ........ I uproot stumps with 12 lb test.

some one please tell me how this could of been my fault , i was fishing open water and just re-spooled that morning ....

Don 't take it as insulting, don 't be defensive about it either, I 'm just pointing you that in my experience with numerous types of line, thousands of yards and hundreds of spools of line in my 36 years as a fisherman line breakeage is mostly the anglers fault and not the product of a bad batch ( which may ocassionally happen, I 've never been able to rule that possibility out of the equation )

1.- Just because you respooled and the line is "fresh" doesn 't mean you checked the line 's condition throught the entire time you were fishing with it until it broke,

2.- it doesn 't mean the line didn 't get damaged during the spooling process, you assume or suppose the line is fine ( we all do that ), go out with the confidence it 's fine, don 't check it and ooops! the line breaks.

3.- You say it 's open water, the only way I can say it 's open water and the line won 't be nicked if everything in my gear is fine is only if I can clearly see there 's absolutely nothing that can damage the line, the moment the line sinks you can 't say so.

4.- The slightest backlash can nick & damage the line.

The list can go on with me ennumerating all the errors we make, only if you honestly and well thought can scrach them out of the list then we can say that it can probably are dealing with one of those scarce cases in which there 's manufacturing defect.

didn't meen to be a @#$% , but the line was fresh , the rod was made the previous week (first time fished) , and the water is very clear , only some grass but no structure or rocks . i think it was a bad line cause i didn't backlash the line and the line didn't break at the knot . anyhow i am gonna either go to 25# or 30# cxx or try out the yo-zuri . was hoping someone had used that # test in yo-zuri . anyone ???
