If the curado works better for you roll with it, I wont get all red faced on here to try to change your mind. I know people get mad when I call them six pin reels, but I don't say it as an insult.

Had the reel been just for P/F I would've said the STX hands down, especially for that price.  Throw in the frog factor and I'm on the fence.

The Curado E is a 7 bearing reel with graphite end plates.  Seems as though Shimano isn't capable of engineering a lightweight reel without going down the graphite road.  Not that big of an issue on the palm plate side but I think I'd like my mechanics on the 'guts' side of the reel to be planted on something more solid than pencil lead.  

Just get a Revo S.  Even cheaper.

Are you kidding me? 75% of the people on this board own curados.  This is why I wont ask these questions on the board anymore.  Some people will give honest responses but lots just bash the other brand they dont have or dont like.  They are both well made reels.  I honestly prefer my STX over my curado for almost every application.  But thats me.  It can cast weightless baits fine and i still dont understand what people are talking about with the brakes and all these backlashes.  I dont know maybe they dont think they need to control the spool with their thumb on a baitcaster.  You will not be upset with either reel choose which ever you like best dont get caught up in the pole or all the bashing comments. (half of them probally never even fished both reels) They will both get the job done fine.  If it were me I would chose the stx mainly because of the price.  But its you so choose which ever you feel is the reel for you because your opinion is the only one that matters.  WE ALL KNOW THEY ARE BOTH GREAT REELS.

I rarely need to control the spool with my thumb since I got my dual brake Patriarchs. I go fishing to fish, not to pamper a temperamental bait casting reel.
