Vision 100 Miyabi, X-80 Trick Darter, or Cyclone series worth buying?

Featured Replies

Either tonight or Tommorow I want to order several new Megabass lures.

I want to try the Vision 100 Miyabi

http://www.megabassusa.com/Vision%20100%20Miyabi.htm

The feature advertised by Megabass is that on the fall it has some kind of fluttering action. Is this similar to those certain jerkbaits (for example SPRO) where when you pause it the weights inside shift and cause it to jerk a little on its own? Do you think the fact that it slowly falls on the pause will mean that it is less productive than a normal suspending jerkbait? I read that it was for sea bass, but I'm sure largemouth would love it.

Is the X-80 Trick Darter any good? How is the action when fished like a jerkbait? Is it's action almost like walking the dog underwater, similar to a Pointer? Or is it a better rip bait, like the 110 with a tight wobble?

No one I fish with owns a Cyclone crank. I am thinking about getting the shallowest version in a couple colors. It looks awesome. How is it? Do you think the whole concept of the water tubes running through it really makes a difference, or will it catch just as many fish as my RC 1.5's?

Please share any of your thoughts and opinions with me. I hate to place a big order and find out that I wasted my money! I would also like to share with you what I think about them in the future. Thanks.

the only 3 types of megabass I like so far are:

vision 110 (although I still prefer the LC pointer I will not buy another megabass one)

Pop max (the best top water popper I have fished)

Deep X series (great crankbaits- my go to for deep water) they are my new fascination- they worked for me on two outtings before it got to cold and I already have confidence in them

Not saying those other baits won't work but I wouldn't buy them. Save your money experiment with Jackall you will not be dissapointed :) most all of their baits are proven.

The vision 100 miyabi is a floating, shallow running jerkbait. It kind of moves like the anthrax 100 but runs deeper.

I love the trick darter! It's a great small suspending jerkbait for spring.

If you you can afford the cyclone, get it. Great crank.

I have about 5 shallow of the cyclones, and 1 deep one.  Both produce for me.  Supposedly the lure has a totally different sound in the water than anything else, it 'whines' or 'hums'.  It is wider than most cranks, and is a bit flatter like a frog lure rather than like a traditional crankbait.  It swims well though, does not turn over at high speeds, and comes with hooks that are as sharp or sharper than anything else out there.  The colors are intricate.  I love everything about the cyclone.

The cyclone is a bigger version of the Griffon, also a great bait, but pretty small.

I have 3 Vision 110's and a flap slap. I love the vision 110's and like the flap slap. Yes they are beautiful lures and are way more detailed and intricate than jackall.
