Abu Garcia Black or Silver?

Featured Replies

i was looking at the Black Max and the silver max.  I noticed that the silver has one more bearing.  is this the only  difference? if so is the extra bearing worth the extra 10 dollars?

They like to scream after a while, save another $40 and go with a Revo S. You will love it.

the post above is the best plan , the silver max and black max are okay reels but you would be sorry you didn't wait and get up a little more money to get the revo s . that reel is a very good one ( revo s ) , if you buy the silver max and use it alot it will not hold up over the long run. get the revo s , you will make a good choice !!!  :o

I got the black max for my first b/c to learn on and my friend got the silver max and i can't really tell any difference and it's held up really well and works great, BUT if i could go back i wish i would've saved up the little extra money for a nicer reel.

i noticed that at walmart the Revo S is 90$ and at Bass Pro it is 130$

at dicks sporting good you can usually get a silver max on a lighting rod for like 50 bux .. and i think it has a $20 rebate too

Thats what I did I think it was like 60-70 though.  It has treated me good so far.

There's another one out now that comes in above the Max line but below the Revo line.  It's Abu Garcia's Orra SX, just like a Revo but does not have the aluminum side plate, only just an aluminum frame with graphite side plates.  9 bearings, centrifugal brakes, sells for $100 at Cabela's.
