help with rod

Recommended Posts

I know this probably sounds crazy to most of you, but I'm looking for a 5ft or 5ft 6" MH spinning rod for skipping out of a crawdad.

Can anyone lead me to where I can find one, All I can find on the web is L and UL in that size.

I'm only 5' 6" and will be using it sitting instead of standing so a longer rod is a little tricky being short and so low to the water.

Thanks

I have never handled this rod, but the G Loomis IMX SJR642S could fit the bill.  It is 5'4" long and has a line rating of 6 to 12 lb. and a lure weight rating of 1/8 to 3/8 oz.  For what you describe, I use the SJR722S, which has the same line and lure rating and works rather fine for a skipping application.

http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_10201839_100002002_100000000_100002000_100-2-2

Sorry - I couldn't resist!

I found  6' BPS "Extreme" spinning stick, but couldn't find any 5'6" MH anywhere I looked. You might have to go custom.

Usually a med st. croix is equal to a med/hvy loomis.
