Falcon BuCoo 6'6" M or MH for Cranks/General purpose rod?

Featured Replies

Im interested in getting one of the Falcon BuCoo rods for throwing cranks, and everything else I cant throw on a MH/XF Vendetta.  Which power would best suit my needs? M or MH? Any and all help would be awesome! Thanks!

Go up to the store and feel them out. I'd check out the 7 Med. I have the 6'10" MH and use it for traps every now and then, and it is servicable.

I prefer the 7'medium.  They are really nice, with a fast tip.  I don't own one, just tried one out.  It felt comparable to other makers in the same range.  :D

The 7'Med is a noodle compared to that abu.

I would suggest you hold one first.

why not another abu?

Honestly, I own the 7ft heavy and love this rod.  I use it for my Ika rod.  The tip is very soft when compared to my other rods.  I think the MH will suit you just fine.

Thanks for all the answers so far, I am actually looking for a rod that can handle cranks first, and the general purpose second.  I checked out the Falcons at Bass Pro and the Medium feels good and not too whippy, and the Medium Heavy seems too stiff for cranks.  I have read in a previous post that the Medium feels like a noodle, it didn't at the store. So basically if anyone has or used the 6"6" Med would you suggest it for cranks and general purpose?

Ideally for a crankbait rod you want one with moderate or moderate fast action. The power isn't really as important. You can get a M, MH, or H as long as they have a moderate or moderate fast action.

*EDIT*

The BCC-4-17 would be a great choice for an all around crankbait rod.  It's 7", but I think you'd love it.
