Kicking myself

Featured Replies

While I was waiting to have my winter tires installed, I started wandering around one of the local tackle shops, one that has a really poor reputation for customer service, and therefore I don't frequent all that often and happened to start playing with the Loomis spinning rods - dreaming/planning for next spring and noticed that a BSR852 GLX had been priced as a Mossyback  :)

Instead of just taking it to the cash, buying it and then deciding if I was ever going to use it, I stupidly asked one of the staff about it.

Of course, he immediately corrected the price.  D'oh!!

I'm still mad at myself.

Don 't know about how it works in Canada, but in Mexico you pay what the price tag says, it 's illegal to "correct" a tagging mistake for a higher price while the store is open to the public.

... buying it and then deciding if I was ever going to use it,...

At least you have tires that you will use!

And if I'd taken it to the cash I've been told that's also the law here, however, in asking about it, I wasn't buying it, so they had a chance to correct it.

I think they should've offered it to me at the reduced price but it confirms why this particular store has a really poor reputation for customer service.

And...sadly yes, snow tires are a necessity here.

In the US, if you are making the purchase they are required to honor the price.  If you are just asking about the item or price they can change it.  However any seller can refuse to sell you anything.
