flipping stick question

Featured Replies

I'm looking into getting my first flipping stick. My question is what does length add to a flipping stick? Another words if you have two identical rods and one is 7ft the others 7'6" what's the difference besides length if any? Or is it just personal preference.

If flipping in the traditional sense then the extra length can extend your range.

If pitching and flipping the extra length can be cumbersome IMO.

That's kind of what I was thinking. And I definately don't want a rod that's to long and possibly akward. Just didn't know if it would help with leverage in heavy cover.

It's not about leverage, it's about taking up line quickly.
