Hey all,

Just starting to get into ice fishing and wondering if anyone here knows a good combo for ice fishing for bass, walleye, and panfish.

Currently, looking at Cabela's whuppin' stick combo.

Anyone have this experience with this comb?

I do not have any experience with that combo but I would recommend what I use for Panfish, Walleye and Bass, St Croix Premier Combo. This rod in the 28" length is ideal for all species but use a spring bobber for panfish. This length is suitable for open ice or in the shack. The reel is made for cold weather use and performs well. The rod is very sensitive. Hope this helps with your selection.

I personally like the Genz combo.

Personaly I wouldn't target bass or walleye with the same rod as I would panfish. Then again I only target panfish through the ice, but catch bass while doing so, and my rod has handled them OK, but I have broke a few off, but I am sure I wouldn't catch nearly as many light biting crappies, bluegills, or perch on a stiffer rod more suitable for bass. I like as light of an action as possable, what I used last season and really liked, and will continue to use this year is the H.T.  21" Noodle Action rod in the Polar lite series. Really light tip so no spring bobber is needed, but stiff enough that you can jig with it without having the rod flop around like limp twig. Plenty of power for big perch, gills, and crappies, and I have subdued a few 2lb bass on it as well. It's a very senstive little rod, and best of all pretty darn inexpensive, I think they are only $15
