Split the grip on my spinning rod

Featured Replies

Well, I didn't know whether to put this in the Tacklemaking section or here, so I'll put it here, since I technically didn't "make" the rod.

Anyways, I got bored and split the grip on my 7' MF Lightning Rod (spinning) and it looks way better. I just wanted to give it a little boost look wise ;)

It's funny though, beacause when I put my Sahara on it, it balanced PERFECTLY and was really light.

I have a feeling it's gonna be a lot easier to fish now that it's lighter. I really like the look. Pics to come.

those are good rods to play with. if you destroy it your loss isnt that bad.

id like to see what the end product is.

I didn't say it was purty ;)

No but it looks fine. I just spray-painted the exposed blank black hahaha. But I mean it's a Lightning Rod, so like you said, it doesn't really matter if you completely wreck it.
