I gather, by the info I'm picking up, glass cranks are used much like chrome ones??? Becouse of the "prizm" effect on glass lures are they better for very murky water, where chrome will work for stained water??? Glass just better than chrome??? Chrome still better than glass???

Well, see, that is where the questioning comes in. In the package, the glass rap's seem bright. Take them away from the chrome background, and they seem to pick up light and make it "colorful". Not sure if it makes the lure brighter than chrome, more colorful, or not as bright. I guess it comes down to the color of the chrome, and the color of the glass lure??? Kind of hard to compare the brightness when they are different colors.

Nope. Take a look at telescopes, the ones that capture and condense more light are multiple mirror telescopes bucause the can trap the light from different angles vs flat mirror telescopes. It 's the same principle.

I am having conflicting theories now!  On one hand I would think that since the distance light can travel is much lower, then I would think the shorter the distance that light has to travel the better.  IE Chrome over Glass since the light would have to first penetrate the first layer of the glass bait.  But then on the other hand one would think that the "glass" bait might do what Raul was saying and magnify the light and send out more of a hugh than a chrome bait.  Either way, I feel that vibration and water displacement is more important than anything in very murky water.

Glass baits are built with multifaceted interior molded into the plastic on each half then a plate of reflective material is placed inside between them. A chrome plated bait only reflects light when the light hits it in the right angle, a multifaceted one reflects light in any angle because if it 's not one facet ( aka, minimirror ) it 's the other that 's in another angle.

An application of the same principle you can see is on those emergency markers you have in your vehicle, they reflect the light in any angle, if they weren 't built that way they would only reflect light in a specific angle.
