carbon steel? They seemed pretty decent for the price but I only held them in store.

Yeah...the Carbon Steel rods are the new version of the old Graphite series rods, definitely seem worth the sale price.

Very nice rods for the price they are being advertised at now. I own 2 Carbon Steel spinning models, both 7' mediums. IMHO they are as good if not better than the discontinued Graphite Series models.
