Revo centrifugal brake pin position

Featured Replies

Just received a 2010 Revo Premier with the dual braking system. I looked at the owner's manual and searched on-line for the proper position for brake pins for on and off. I'm presuming when the brakes are pushed loose they are off, when they are snapped in, they are on.

Can I get a confirmation on that? Thanks

Towards the axis is off and away is on.

Okay, so I have it reversed.  My reason was based upon this passage from the Owner's Manual:

Be sure to slide the brake weights inward on their pins before re-assembling your reel.

Thanks for your assistance on that!

Actually what they meant in that statement.

Is to make sure that you move the brake weight (block) you have turned on (un-locked), move them sightly toward the spool shaft (do not lock them).. This will keep them from jamming when the side plate is re-installed, and, you won't damage any of the blocks...
