well the other day i got the idea that i wanted a small, slender baby bass colored jerkbait. i thought it would be good for fishing shallow water in the early summer when all the little bass are swimmin about. well look what a quick trip to dicks sporting goods produced!

a rapala husky jerk HJ10. it is the perfect lure. suits every requirement i had for my baby bass jerkbait. perfect shape, perfect size, perfect color, and its translucent. i was lookin at rapalas baby bass pattern, and it was opaque (didnt like that) and it was too "detailed" for what i wanted. so i got this color which is called "goby" but i think it is a perfect match for the baby bass that swim in the shallows that i fish.

just liked this lure so much i had to make a post about it lol ;D

Gotta love Rapala products... now i think i will have to take a trip to Outdoor Pro Shop and pick up one of those! I can already see myself catching 100 bass! lol yeah right...  ::P

That is a great baby bass pattern!  I'm going to have to hunt one of those down.  Thanks for sharing  :P

yeah ive done some research, and on www.rapalaworld.com , they show this color as "muddler" instead of "goby" which is weird because they are definitley the same color, and mine said "goby" on the box. and on that website, it shows alot of lures with this "muddler" pattern and other funky colors i've never seen rapala use, and today was the first time ive ever seen one in this pattern. so the whole thing is pretty confusing. i wish i new what the deal was lol.

but on the website they show that the jointed minnow and the xrap come in "muddler" and i am definitley going to try and find a J13 in muddler to use as a big wake bait and an xrap in muddler.  :P

when I worked at dick's they were called goby's. I also thought they would be great baby bass substitutes.

That looks like an awesome jerkbait. I might have to check one out (I mean buy one)

Got one a while ago and it is a fantastic bait! Have caught few in my time on those. Wonder why it has been buried in my box?? Must be because there are always new toys to play with.

I have that exact same bait. The package said "goby"
