G. Loomis GLX BSR803 vs SJR783S

Featured Replies

Been looking to add a BSR803 glx to the arsenal but might have a sweet deal on a SJR783S glx. Other than the guides & length, can anyone tell me the difference in the two rods? How the application for each rod might differ? Thanks

The BSR has a faster tip than the SJR meaning that the SJR has a more moderate action.  I use the SJR 783 GLX as a senko skipping rod and it does a great job!  If you wanted to toss larger jerkbaits or topwaters, the SJR is the better choice.  If it's strictly bottom contact, the BSR would be a better choice.  If the deal is sweet enough, I think you would be very happy with the SJR!

i own both rods and i agree with the post above. bsr803 for bottom baits, sjr783 for an all-around rod.
