Revo STX HS and carrot stix 7'6" H

Featured Replies

Hey Guys Im new here and just bought the above rod and reel combo. My original plan was for a pitchin and flippin rod but after my initial trip to a pond for testing it feels a little light for that purpose the 1/2 ounce jig feels very heavy. perhaps its the small diamater and sensitivity of the rod but it feels like im outgunned for the intended purpose. so im thinking to use it as a carolina/lighter worm pitchin rig and for frogs..What would you use the rod and reel for?

Well the carrot stix are an extremely light (as in weight). but they are tuff. I think that is a good set up. I personally don't use a 7'6", just my choice. I don't think you are outgunned at all.

i have used that exact set up for everything from frogs to punching mats (1.5 ounce). its definitely strong enough.

that would make an excellent carolina rig rod and , for me , i would use it for frogs ...  ;)
