Both of these are in the flier, and on sale at BPS this coming Friday.  I want to get a better baitcaster.  Can anyone let me know what they think of these two?  Just wondering if the Carbonlite is markedly better.  Thanks!

I can just add this! I took a look at the Carbonlite and it was love at first touch! As for the PQ I don't have one so I am sure you will get much more input than I can offer! I am buying the Carbonlite on Sat. ! ;D

There are a couple threads on this already. The PQ is a great reel, and the Carbonlite is pretty much the same thing as the PQ, just lighter.

The flyer states that the PQ weighs just under 7.1oz. The Carbonlite weighs 6.7. My guess is that the PQ on sale was a prototype for the Carbonlite. (graphite sideplates, aluminum crankshaft, main gear, worm drive) The Carbonlite has the carbon fiber handle which is probably the reason for the weight and price difference. If the internals are the same, it's a matter of reel color and handle.

I have both reels. Can't go wrong with ether one of them. If I were to buy another it would be the carbonlite.
