Phenix Rods

Featured Replies

Has anyone used the Phenix Ultra MBX casting rods.  I am looking to pick one up for general purpose jigging and t-rigs.  I'm leaning towards the 700H, as I throw mostly 1/2 oz jigs.  Is this too much rod for this size bait, or am I on the right track?  I have not been able to handle one, so any overall opinions would be great too.

Gonna have to get some West Coast guys to answer this one.  Seems like a local favorite, and availability.  They were all over the place out there when I was there, but they seem to place a heavy emphasis on stocker trout gear.  The ones I handled were nice and light, and had a nice feel to them, but I've never fished one and caught anything.

hey those phenix rods are nice.  Especially those Ultra MBX series.  They're light, and very sensitive.  I custom wrapped a spinning a 2 baitcasting blanks from that rod series and man I love the feel it gives me.  I use one of the baitcast for fishing soft plastics, and the other for fishing spinnerbaits exclusively.
