I am planning on getting a curado for a new jig/worm rod i am about to buy.  what gear ratio is best for a jig/worm rod.

    Exactly.

    I have a curado on my jig rod and couldnt ask for a better reel in that situation

    I don't know, but I get by with my 6.3: 1, I have even used my 5:1.. :D
