gloomis shaky head rods qs??

Featured Replies

does anyone know if the gloomis shaky head models are built with the imx blank??

also im looking into the shr8822s im thinking on using this for shaky heads senkos and trig tubes and light jigs would that rod be good for those techniques?

The SHR 822 is not built on an IMX blank - it's a very nice, very sensitive rod that's awesome with a shakey head.  It should do everything you've listed just fine.

Bronzefly would you say its a imx/gl3 blend like the mossybacks?

I've heard about the "blended" blanks, but honestly, I don't know exactly what the blank material consists of on that particular rod.  I do know that I used that rod regularly until I picked up the new GLX version - and was very pleased with its performance.

I have the 822S and love it.  Great rod for shakey heads and also throw lighter hair jigs with it in the early spring & fall.  Very nice rod.  You won't be disappointed.
