Curado D Series levelwind issue

Featured Replies

Hey everyone.

I have a Curado DPV (the 5.1 to 1) for my cranking reel.  When I begin reeling in after a cast the line gets pulled to the side of the plastic line guide attached to the levelwind.  This causes my line to get spooled lobsided, with more line to whatever side the line gets stuck on.

Can I do anything about this?

Thanks, Ben.

Check the level-wind by applying light finger pressure against the guide as you reel. Feel for rough spots or hesitations especially when the guide changes directions. If it is suspect, send it in and I'll diagnose further. If you think it's working properly, try stripping off the line looking to see if it levels out. You can also try taking the reel off the rod and re-spooling to see if that makes a difference. The placement of the first guide can sometimes cause line to stack on one side.

Thanks Delaware Tackle Valley.  I'll check for those rough spots and maybe the re-spool too.

Anyone else have any suggestions or aftermarket fixes?

Thanks, Ben.
