So I have been fishing a lot and I find that I love using my 7' MH Fast action St. Croix Mojo Bass for spinnerbaits as it was designed. In the early spring I have already had great success.

However, at times I pull up on a bunch of really thick sticks and underground branches or grass or light cover that I would love to try to penetrate with a jig or soft plastic.

Instead of having to retie with a whole new texas rig setup, I would like to just get another rod so I can pitch my soft plastic into that area.

I would like to stay within the Mojo Bass range. I see that they have a 7'6" MH Moderate Fast action rod. Would this be a good rod to use for this?

Or should I go with something smaller like their 6'6 MH Fast rod?

I really like the idea of the pitching presentation of swinging my rod out like a pendulum to quietly hit those targets. So the length seems good but wouldn't it make more sense that the action be really fast to drive in the single hooks hard into the fish's jaw?

Anyway, let me know what you guys think.

Same rod will work fine for that, 7' MH/F.

I like a long rod for underwater cover. 

Sensitivity becomes more of an issue for the jigs and soft plastics.  If you could add a few bucks and go with a St. Croix Avid 7' MH Fast or XFast I think it would be well worth the investment.

I have the 7' MH MOD MOJO and it's a great crankbait rod (and labeled that way)with a pretty soft tip. I also have the 6'6 MHF and its great for shore fishing around trees with plastics like beavers or finesse jigs. If you want to stay in the Mojo line get the 6'6 MHF, mine sees as much use as my Avid in the same size and action  Yep, I said it.

i have the mojo plastics rod and love it before it i tried the skeet reese senko rod,,,the allstar 786c team rod and the mojo plastics is better than both to me and ive caught some 5lbers with it in the guntersville grass so it has plenty of backbone
