Spinning rod and real help

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me a good not to expensive spinning rod and real set up? I have been fishing casting gear only and am wanting a spinning for some finesse and drop shotting

spider-man spinning rod and reel combo.  you can pick it up at wal-mart for 9.99, plus it comes with a plano box full of plastics and hooks.

What works for me is a Shimano Crucial dropshot rod and any 2500 size reel you like.  The rod has a very light tip section that helps in working dropshots and shaky heads, but plenty of backbone to handle big fish when needed.

for an inexpensive spinning rod , check out the shimano clarus line of rods . i have a 6'6" light powered , fast action rod i use for a multitude of things including dropshotting and weightless plastics and other finesse stuff . the rod has plenty backbone and is under a lifetime warranty and runs about 60-70 bucks !!
