Try the 50/12 PP before switching. It performs better than the 20 or 30 lb on casting rigs.

50lb Test 12lb dia. ???

That seems huge! :o

No, its right. 20# braid is for a spinning outfit.

Personally, I would never put 20lb braid on a casting reel. Would you put 6lb test mono on your reel? Probably not, so why put braid with the same diameter on there? Go up to 50-65lb braid with the diameter of 12-15lb mono. The heavier braid is stronger, easier to manage, and I believe easier to cast on casting reels.

Well I am gonna go with the Sufix in 50lb then that sounds good to me

I strictly used suffix for a few years, but found tried some of the fireline braid and its great. However I still prefer suffix for spinning outfits because it feels a bit thinner.

So give me the pros & cons of  Fireline vs. Sufix Perf. Braid. I wanna pick some up on friday or Thursday

Well I read TackleTour's review on the three super braids: Troyar, Daiwa Samuari & Sufix

They rated Sufix the highest in the 50lb group in overall criteria

I googled Sufix vs Power Pro and found several links to different fishing sites. The consensus was 40-50lb and over go with Sufix, lower than 40lb go with Power Pro. With Sufix, 50lb and greater it has 8 carriers, below that 4. In the lower lb tests Power Pro is easier to cast.

I use braid on a limited basis, mainly 65lb for frogs and punching. This year I'm going to be using braid on my swim jig setup and will be trying 50lb Sufix.

as i've said a million times on this forum, powerpro is outdated.it was once the best braid but is no more.there are 2 braids that far outshine the others at this point and they would be diawa samurai braid and fireline's new 8 strand braid.both are excellent but i prefer the fireline because it has more body which = less tip wraps.

That is my biggest pet peeve about braid fishing soft baits >:o

So does the fireline only come in black? I would rather have it in green if I could just so it blends better in the water IMO

What is the claim to fame with the 5 strands? Rounder or stronger or something of that nature?

I bought some of their Tracer line (alternates between green and bright yellow in approx. 1 foot increments) to use for my spinning rod.  I like it so far.  I attach a flourocarbon leader to it and it has worked great.

Just picked up some 50lb Sufix this afternoon at BPS gonna spool it up in the morning and hit the lake :o

I tried the Fireline ONCE...and found it to be the best line for hanging the wifes birdfeeders :o

I like the PP and never really have given the others much thought,  but keep us posted on your opinions.

used the 50lb test yesterday for the first time. I have a lot of pros for it and a couple cons. I really like the coating that is on this line compared to the PP. It is much smoother and doesn't chip off it does bleed off when water gets on it, but i've yet to have braid that doesn't do that the first couple times. I like the castablity of it the most. I can whip out a small finesse worm with little to no problems on my citica.

I did have one problem though. I was fishing a C-Rig and had a bite and set the hook and it sound like a gun went off the line snapped above the sinker  :o But besides that I like it so far I will fish with it some more and get back to y'all
