Guys for what it is worth I have been struggling with good hookups with a Swim Jig. I had the opportunity to hold this rod in a BPS in Cincinnati. Needless to say it left home with me. I used it on Saturday and had 6 strikes with a swim jig which all resulted in a hookup. I never could understand why had had such difficulties with a swim jig. Never any issues with pitching or a football jig but I believe I found a rod to help me with the swim jig. I will get a chance next week to use this rod in all jig applications at the Pickwick Roadtrip. Just wanted to give Shimano a 2 thumbs up I believe they nailed it with this rod. By the way the new Dirty Jig swim jig is just outstanding, they really track true.

Your issues with hook-ups could have been the action of the rod you were using, problem that apparently got fixed by using an extra fast action rod.
