So I broke my rod!!!! Need New rod selection help

Featured Replies

Ok, I broke my favorite rod yesterday during my tournament. I closed the livewell door on it... Yes I know very rookie of me. But this rod has been my favorite for over 10 years. Never let me down, and I let her down in this fashion.

Now I used the rod for crankbaits and light swimbaits. I know isn't meant for it, but I loved it. I literally knew the action of this rod so well I could throw just about any lure with it, even senkos. I used it as a striper rod as well.

So I had a Casting Berkley x-tra IM6 X50-7' MH, Medium Heavy Action. Lure weight 3/8 - 1.5 ounces. Line weight 12-25.

It had a soft tip, kind of whippy. And was graphite.

Can anyone recommend a similar rod, I would like something that maybe able to handle something a little heavier weight maybe up to 2-3 ounces, but still able to throw 3/8. I know some companies under rates there rods.

Any recommendations, I thank you in advance for. All prices ranges.

Why is that?

i assume because i suggested buying the same rod you broke. as far as i know Capt. Obvious doesnt make rods.

LOL.

I was implying that it should be obvious that BLee couldn't find the same rod by the fact that he asked for a different type of rod. Surely he would have already tried to replace the broken rod that he loved so much with the same rod, right?

Just joking around  ;D

LOL

I didn't think about a custom rod, I think that might be route I have to go.

Definitely will check his website out. and they are all very reasonably priced.

when he built mine for me he sat on the phone with me for like 20min and went over every detail of the rod. i think i ended up paying like 155 for mine and 155 for my dads including shipping.
