Daiwa Fuego Spinning Rods

Featured Replies

Any of you guys own or used the Fuego spinning rod?  How is it compared to other rods around its price point?

Any good or bad points?

i owned the 7'0" MH XF fuego. it weighed in at 4.4 ounces and was very "crisp" feeling. i loved the zaion reel seat...very comfy in my hand and does not need constant retightening like my other spinning rods with the no-foregrip design (dobyns and powells) but the foam foregrip is longer than i found necessary. i only fished it once before i sold it so i can't tell you much about how it fished. the colors and graphics are very pretty and matched my shimano stradic Ci4 perfectly.

I purchased the 6'9"MLXF this past winter. I have not been able to fish this year, so this is just going off of playing with the Fuego in the house.

I saddled the previous model Fuego 2500 on the stick, and the combo really did feel dreamy. As snoopy said, very crisp blank. If I remember correctly, lots of backbone too.

From what I understand, the graphite used in the blank is the same as that used in the Zillion sticks. Lots of people are more than happy with the sensitivity of their Zillions, so I'm sure the Fuego is plenty sensitive.

I have used a friend's. Very nice rods. They feel very much like Zillions.

I bought the 6'10", MXF this winter and took it out the other day matched with the 2000 series. Feels wonderful....light, sensitive. Like the previous posters have said, its as nice as the zillion series. I thought they would of been a bit underrated like the zillions are imho but my medium feels like a normal medium!
