  1. I usually use 70lb braid, only reason I tie a leader on when fishing heavy timber, etc is so when I get snagged I can just pull and break the leader. Instead of having to cut my line and losing a bunch of braid. That's the only occasion I use a leader.
  2. 7'-7'6" rod, 6.x:1 reel, M-MH (Depending on cover), Fast Action
  3. I also preferred the shimano 50 sized reels. For the most part they can accomplish most tasks well, just some things better then others.
  4. Good choice, though if your like me I couldn't stop at just 1...lol
  5. The choice is easy for those applications, the Zillion. The only benefit for the core is the weight difference, in all other aspects the Zillion wins. The core is a great reel but better suited for other things. For line 50 or 60 is fine, I use both with good results. I like the color green so thats what I would choose.
  6. My guess is a 5 year limited warranty.
  7. Though I don't have any tackle suggestions, a 7'+ Heavy with a fast tip is what I would recommend.
  8. Daiwa Exceler changed for this year, so probably not a lot of people that have tried it.
  9. Very nice Nycgrip! Got to love the T3 variants
  10. Another possible candidate lost to the Shimano posse I'm pretty much the same way to, though at 1 time I did put a shimano reel on a Daiwa rod to make due for a bit. I felt so dirty..... Well thinking about, I do have 2 JDM Abu reels not on the matching rod (Just nothing that intrigues me in there line of rods)

  12. Glad its working out for you! I love my steezs
  13. It's a prize reel to have, it will be hard to acquire though.
  14. Heavy if adding weight or in/around heavier cover. The reel I would use is a 7.x and for line the comments the other 2 gave will work but I like to go heavier so I would bump up to 50lb just because
  15. That was to many Shimanos at one time, so I thought I would throw in a little Daiwa. Steez EX 7.1 / Steez Compile-X
  16. It'll work just fine, I had 50lb and 70lb Daiwa samurai braid on them and it was ok
  17. Going by what I've used the Zombie Dee Thomas will suit your needs perfectly. It's rated up to 4 oz and its 7'6". Plus it has a soft enough "tip" to really sling a frog and soft enough where you don't have to worry about snapping your rod in the thickest of junk
  18. Dragstar material is Ziaon. Soon we'll know everything. The enthusiast in me even finds this reel very interesting, the T3 is amazing so I honestly have high hopes for this reel to perform very well.
  19. Same here, I'm just more accurate with 1 hand. Maybe the end if the day if I'm getting tired ill cast 2 handed a little
