St. Croix Avid Vs. G Loomis Mossyback

Featured Replies

This is my last question for my new fishing rod search.

I have an opportunity to purchase a new G Loomis jig & worm BCR802 mossyback 6'8" MXF fishing rod for the same price as the St. Croix Avid rod. Should I go with the G Loomis for a soft plastics spinning rod. Any suggestions will help.

Thanks,

VC

Just realized the mossyback model number is not the same as the new model.

BCR802 compared to BSR802

i think its the cast model (bcr) compared to spin (bsr).

That must be it thanks

If I did end up going with that rod should I go with the MHXF or MXF? Again it will be my soft plastics spinning rod.

About to purchase the G Loomis but I really need some advice on whether to get a M or MH. Again I will be using it just for soft plastics (senkos, trick worms, etc.)

Thanks

Just purchased the MH. My gut feeling is that the little extra power will help bc I usually fish around cover and other structure. hopefully I made a good purchase!

MH was a good pick.

Hell of a note when you have to talk to yourself cuz nobody else will talk to you. Have to do it on occasion myself as no one else supplies me with an answer I want to hear. Probably because they aren't as intelligent as me! LOL. ;):)

Dang, you have to be careful what you read at work or people start looking at you funny!
