I like my Powell rod but notice that at 7' long and with the reel that most of the weight balances about 4" in front of the reel. I would like to know if I can add some weight to the butt end so that the rod balances a lot more toward the reel like my old spinning rod setup. As far as I can tell, there is no plug to remove to add weight.

Although don't buy into the hype about the sensitivity.

I make them with the chair leg plastic tips and a lead egg sinker flattened to fit inside the plastic.

I have them on all my rods and love them. Both the ones that bass pro sells and some that I made up myself with rubber stool tips and these disc-shaped sinkers that a local tackle shop sells.
