After quite a bit of research, I purchased a Falcon Original rod, but now I am doubting my purchase. The rod is:

FS-6-17 Falcon Original Lizard Dragger Spin 15-25 lb., 3/8 - 1 oz., 7'

I like the feel of it, though I havent attached a spinning reel to it yet. It is designed for carolina rigging, but I want it for jigging. I jig in areas with little brush or cover, no milfoil, hydrilla, or other junk, and mostly on ledges. A fellow I spoke with mentioned that you could easily use the rod interchangably and it should do well with a jig as well, specifically the 5/8 that I would be using it for. Was I misinformed, or do you think there would be a noticable difference if I were to use it for jigging instead of carolina rigging?

Judging from the specs, it sounds like a pretty good jig rod.  I would take it out and throw those jigs on it and evaluate it from there.

I am sure there are people here that have used this rod for similar applications.  I hope one of them chimes in.

It will be good to use  with both techniques
