Lamiglas Excel Casting Rod

Featured Replies

I'm thinking of ordering a Lamiglas Excel Casting Rod XL704C for some weightless plastics and light jiging.  Any suggestions for a better rod in the same price range (100-150) for the same purpose?

Anything helps, thanks

i have the same model and love it, i use it for just about everything, and it casts a weightless worm very well, it also is very good for spinnerbaits, you will not be disapointed with this rod

I have a couple of the Excel casting rods and have been very pleased. I don't think you'll find anything "better" in that price range but there are a number of comparable alternatives. I've always liked Lamiglas and you can't beat the lifetime warranty and being made in the USA.

I've got a 734C.  In my opinion it is at the top of the class in the $100 range.  I couldn't be more pleased with the sensitivity and performance of this rod given it's price.

The only other rod in that range I own that I might recommend would be a Powell Max.   Both are excellent rods for their price.

falcon or powell :)

Maybe wait for the XL704CM or XL705CM with micro guides.  They should be available pretty soon.  I have the 703,704,705 and 734 models.  The 704C matched with a 2010 Revo Premier weighs in at  11.6 ounces with line.  That's not too shabby.  :)
