I thinking about getting a Shimano Crucial spinning rod for shakey heads and tubes. I would like to know what you think of this rod?

I 'm not a Crucial user but my opinion is ---->  any Crucial rod is great rod.

I had the 6'6" MF model and it was very sensitive but underpowered, imo. I believe it was rated for 1/8-3/8 oz, and was noticeably underpowered for anything heavier than a 7" Power Worm, 3/0 EWG, and an 1/8 oz bullet weight.

I have the 6'8 M XF drop shot rod its great for shaky heads and tubes.  It is rated for 1/8 -3/8 and I would not recommend you go over 3/8.  It is very senitive and great for finesse fishing.  I even throw small crankbaits on it too.

I use the 7'2" MXfast DS rod as my primary spinning rod.  I bought it to drop shot some of the deeper spots in my lake.  Couldn't be happier with it.  It's designed and marketed as a drop shot and shakey head rod.  Works beautifully for both of them.  Also makes a fantastic weightless soft plastics rod.  Lots of backbone, and a very nice tip.

My son has the 6'6" MF and the 6'8" MXF, and I've had a chance to use them both. Pretty darn nice rods, and I would agree what others of said here... they are a little light in power, but work fine with the finesse stuff.

I have this one as well, and I love it so far.

I have not used it for it's labeled use (drop shot) but it is very versatile. It throws weightless worms, 4 inch senkos and flukes very well.

I have borrowed the 7'2" mh xf version on a couple of trips, and I liked it even more. Eventually I will be getting that rod as well.

hello, new to site. just throwing in my 2 cents. I have a 7'2" m exfast drop shot crucial. it is the most sensitive rod I have ever fished. It is paired up w/a Saros. I also bought a CI4 UL reel this past spring. that I tried to pair up with a grant rod, but it was a little top heavy so I now have it on a Carrot Stix gold. neither of these rods compare to the crucial for sensitivity. I believe I could feel a fish fart with the Crucial. I have actually felt the wind blowing across my line. I love that rod and would recommend it to anyone.

I have 3x 7-0 MH, 2x 7-0 H Xfast, and 1 flipping stick.  They're one of the best "bang for your buck" rods out there.  While I'd now be much more inclined to buy an Avid or a Cumara, the Crucial is no less a great rod.  I'll fish mine until they're dead.
