Anyone know anything about Fenwick Rods?

Featured Replies

Just picked one up on Ebay. Its a FS 76 CML. I take it that because its a 7'6" rod that its probably gonna be a MH...Correct? What vintage might this rod be and whats the retail on it?

Not necessarily.  The "ML" in the CML may mean medium light.  I'm not familiar with the "CS" model prefix.  Is it a salmon rod?

Please tell me this is a Cranking rod and not a spinning rod!! I contacted the seller prior to the purchase and asked the same question question and he confirmed it was a cranking rod...Im a little concerned that it might not be though.

Description says its a medium power and I see in one pic where it says "Fenglass" So does that indicate its a Fiberglass rod?

A buddy left his fenwick rod at my house and left for college so I've been using it. It looks like its the same rod only the one I have is 7 foot. It's a great rod, light weight, sensitive and has great backbone. Id buy one for myself the next time I need a rod, but ill keep using his until he realizes I have it ha ha

That's an old Fenglass rod.  They've been around forever.  It is definitiely a cranking rod.  They were very highly respected rods.  If it's in good shape, you did well.

FS is a Fenwick Spinning designation.  It isn't a casting rod.  It's a glass spinning rod.

Just because it's cranking doesnt mean its casting.....
