I bought an Extreme rod at BPS when i was first learning to fish a baitcaster last winter. In my opinion, i thought it was a really nice set up. Never had any issues with it.

after my first year, i decided to upgrade the extreme set up for a REVO STX/Shimano Crucial Rod.

I have since sold my Extreme baitcaster but cant get rid of the rod for the life of me. the rod is $100 NEW, i have tried selling mine for $50.  Is the price im trying to sell for too high?

Are there a lot of people that use the Extreme rods? Wasnt sure if i was trying to sell "junk" on the market or a very nice rod in a lot of peoples opinion. :-/

Bass Pro has them on sale several times a year. Right now in their Christmas catalog they're on sale for 59 bucks. So if you're asking $50+shipping (if you're not selling locally), it may not be such a good buy. I know, I have a few Extremes and Bionic Blades that I figure unless I want to give them away, I'm stuck with them.

I bought two Extreme combos new for 99 bucks each.

hmmm, wonder if i could clean it up really well and return it to BPS for an in store credit  ;D, that would be wrong!

I use two spinning and one baitcaster for pond and fun fishing.

I will also use them for tournament fishing.

Very good rods. No problems. 

I've got a BPS Extreme Rod. It's my soft swimbait rod (skinny dippers/Big Ez).

Crankenstein is right...you probably won't get $50 for it. I think I got mine for about that new (clearance at BPS).

It's a good rod, though...you might want to just hold on to it. I have 2 Avids and 1 Crucial. Today I went to Okeechobee...I caught about a dozen bass on my Avids (worms/beavers) and at least 20 on my BPS Extreme swimbait rod. This rod has been very good to me and will always have a place in my rodbox.

i guess im just looking at it as not being used and only sitting in my rod rack collecting dust.

i have my REVO STX/Shimano Crucial set up and an ABU GARCIA CARDINAL 100ui set up and thats all i use.  so the extreme rod has no purpose...............

I have several, in both baitcast and spinning. For the money they are decent rods. I would buy an Extreme or Pro Qualifier (my choice) reel for it when they go on sale and use it. A man can never have too many combos. 8-)

I'm with K_Mac - keep it, get another reel (the BPS PQ is on sale for $69 right now), and have a nice combo.

I have 7 Extremes (3 spinning, 4 casting) and get good use out of them. I do have 2 Loomis GLX rods (1 spinning, 1 casting) that I use for soft plastics, but I use the Extremes (and my 4 Bionic Blades) for pretty much everything else.

I have a bunch of them. Pretty nice for the money, especially when you get them on sale.

I'd get another reel for it and keep it. Of course I have so much stuff I could outfit a platoon for a tournament, so keep that in mind when I'm giving advice.

I used Extremes for years and caught lots of fish with them. I don't like them as much with the new lockdown foregrip as I did the older rods, but that's just personal preference. The Extreme/Curado 100b (and I'm sure newer models) combos were very comfortable to fish with.

The thing that bothered me the most with the BPS rods was the short handle. It could be solved by getting the weight balance kit though. I just took the screw-in balance kit and stuffed pieces of plastic grocery bags in there and left the weights out. I could get the handle a little longer and balance the rod out a little more with some of the weights if I wanted to.

like i said, i liked the rod, thought it was great.  i dont like to have more than two set ups at all times.  i dont fish from a boat so trying to carry more than 2 set ups is a hassle, IMO.

i use my baitcasting set up for EVERYTHING and if the bass arnt biting, then i switch to my panfish set up and catch the blue gills and crappie .
