I just got a Pfleuger Templar from my brother for christmas. Its a good looking reel and sells for 60 at walmart but I went to try it out on the Berkley lighting rod he gave me and let me tell you it is probably worst baitcaster I have used.

I only own low end baitcasters (pfleuger criterion and a penn pursuit) but this is by far the worst. For some reason the anti reverse is horribly inconsistent. Is it possible that the anti reverse is defective or are they all like this? If not would I be able to fix it? A baitcaster that randomly winds backwards is completely useless. Its so bad that it even backlashes when I am driving around with it in the back of the car. How? I have no idea.

Yup, Lancaster PA. I was seriously worried nobody around here likes to fish.

But good news on that reel I think its only the cold weather. I was practicing pitching and flipping inside and the anti reverse started working flawlessly. I hope it stays that way.
