Picked up a 6'6" M spinning for shaky head, finesse applications. This is the second nanofiber rod I have now. Man the way these rods feel really makes me want to replace every rod I have with a veritas...Price is great as well!

So have I. I have 6 of them now  ;D  except for my deep cranking rod.  I think the 7'6" Veritas will have too much muscle for deep cranks but havent really checked into it yet.  SeanW have you checked out the 7'6 and if so would it suit deep cranks or more for swimbaits?

I have the 7'2" Carrot cranking stick for deep cranking and love it. It actually feels just like the Veritas and can be found for $99

You might wanna check out both 7'6 rods, there is a MH and a H. I also have a few of the 7'3MH and I wouldnt hesitate to throw deep cranks on that. So IM assuming the 7'6 MH would also be fine. I am getting some of the Verdicts as well, so hopefully they will arrive with in a month. I was gonna keep some of my Powell rods, but the more I use the Veritas the more of em I sell off.

I was at Cabelas yesterday checking out what they had left of their clearence xml rods($59).  As I've said before,  these rods are nice at $139.00.

Right next to those were a rack of the veritas so of course I had to handle one.  I'm definitely going to get one to try out.  They feel awesome!!  Light,  balanced,  and they felt pretty sensitive when doing a "rub the tip on the carpet" test.  $99!!!!!!!!!!!

After walking away I had to go back.  I held an XML in 1 hand and a veritas in the other.  I was way more impressed w/ the veritas.  I do own 2 casting and 2 spinning XML's,  but my focus of looking for another went straight to the veritas.  Can't wait to get my hands on one of the new Verdicts also.

   Ill post something up once I get my Verdict shipment, but I think it'll be a month.

A question for the people who already have a veritas.  Which one would you recommend for fishing a weightless senko and other soft plastics?  When I was handling them they felt stiff for their rating so I'm a little undecided.

I was thinking the same thing at first. My 7'3 MH Casting rods arrived yesterday. To me they are perfect senko and jig rods, and texas rig rods. Ill use them more then any other rod. Of course everybody is different. I hae to always consider that I may hook a 10+ on the next cast. Once I got a reel, line and bait on the rod it felt like a MH. I should add that Im a line watcher when senko fishing.

yea i was just saying most people like that action rod for senko fishing.. But i agree with you i have two senko rods one is a 7ft heavy action rod i use for throwing around timber and brush which down here on the bend there is alot of timber!! but there is also huge flats and when im fishing flats i throw a senko on a 7'6 power tackle rod pg 104.. its better on the flats for making long casts and the length also helps get a good hook set on those long cast

The only problem w/ the veritas lineup is that their only 7' med. is a mod. fast.  I might just get that mod. fast for a crankbait/topwater rod and wait to get a 7' or 7'3" MH verdict.  SeanW- how does that 7'3" feel w/ a reel on it(tip heavy wise)?

   The MH is awesome. I put Revo Premiers on the 7"3 MH and is balances fine even with the feather weight reel. All of the Veritas rods seem to balance just fine.

Yeah a senko is so darn heavy that you can cast and fish it with just about anything.

Since I started this thread I sold my 7'8 H Kistler magnesium and ordered a 7'6 MH Veritas for fishing Jigs, C-Rigs, and punching mats. My H Kistler was rated up to 1oz, the MH Veritas is rated to 1 1/4oz so it does seem they are rated a little lighter than they actually are. I am also selling two other Kistler rods I have to buy one 7'MH Veritas for pitching t-rigged plastics...Pretty soon I will have white all over my deck...

Most of my punching is done with 3/4 oz so I should be fine. I think you can play a big fish a little better wih MH vs a H so I dont want the broomstick unless I really need it. If I break one horsing a fish out of the grass though then I will prob regret going with the MH. We will see how it goes.

   I dont think there will be a breaking issue at all. I was saying that because I use 1.5oz and 2oz quite a bit. Its more about being able to pitch accurately, and a 2oz weight on the MH would be over powering. You will be fine with 3/4, and Id horse fish, these rods are tough and strong.

I've got two of the 7' M m/f rods and really like them.  I'm using one for spinnerbaits and the other for med-deep cranks.  To me it's a little too stiff & fast for small shallow crankin but it works good for the LC Clunn baits.  Anything like a size 5 fat free shad is perfect range. 

I threw a DT16 last time out and it was almost too much.  Those baits really have the most resistance of any crank I throw though, even the 10 pulls pretty hard.  I really don't do much deep cranking so I should be good!

Just picked up 2 of them today.  A 7'3" mh fast for my dad and a med. 7' mf for myself.  When the Verdicts are more available I'm going to pick up a 7' or 7'3" mh for myself also.  Had a 25% off coupon that had to be used by Jan. 5.  Worked out pretty well,  $74.99 for each!

Nice! Thats a great deal. Both are great rods. I find the 7'3 to be kind of a one rod does all if you had to. Its gonna be my jig rod, buzz baits, frog rod, spinner baits, spooks, senko. I could go on, guess its easier to say I think its the best in the line up. I should add that Ive been pairing my Veritas rods with Premier reels, and man they are featherweight.

My Patriarch xt will go on that med. mf for cranks, spinnerbaits/ buzzbaits. The blue reel might not look too bad on the white. When I pull the trigger on the 7'3" Verdict I'll prob. put a 200e7 on it. I really would like to try a premier, but I can almost get 2 e7's for that price. It's hard to find a discount on the premier!

An earlier post stated that the med. mf might be a little stiff for light cranks, but I have that covered w/ a 7' med. fast act. Kistler ltx 1/16-1/2oz. baits that I picked up a month ago. I think I will put a 50e on that.

Now I'm just itching for the Verdict!!!!!!!!!!!

any one out there have the 6'9" MH xf casting? I was thinking about getting it for senkos. It concerns me that everyone says they are very stiff, but I was thinking the xf tip would allow the bait to load and cast it plenty far. any thoughts?
