All Star ASR and Team Rods ?

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I've always been a St.Croix, Falcon, and Shimano rod guy and just started taking a look at All Star.  I know that the warranty on the All Stars can't touch the 5 year and Lifetime warranties on the other rods.  But the fact that they are using a IM10 blank with Alconite guides on the ASR series w/ a $99 tag and Aluminum Oxide guides on the Team w/ a $79 is kinda intresting.  I don't have a dealer anywhere near me to go and compare them to my other rods so I wanted a general feel from guys who have tried them.

How sensitive are they compared to the Compre, Avid, Mojo, Lowrider, and Cara rods? How much heavier/lighter?  (Granted balancing the rod will help that out)

Thank you guys for any help.

I personally love ASR rods. I haven't used all the rods you listed , but I have Mojo's, Carbonlites, and other rods in the 100 to 150 dollar price range and I like the feel of the ASR best of all. I own 4 of them. :)
