  1. Basspro's swizzle sticks work well for me. Catch a lot on the retrieve....
  2. I have been saving all my tore up soft plastics in a gallon freezer bag. As soon as I feel I have enough I will order some Mend-It and do them all in one sitting. That way I will get my moneys worth before it dries up...
  3. I have been saving all my tore up bait in a ice cream bucket... When I feel I have enough to warrant buying a bottle,I'll try it again. Last bottle, which was plastic didn't last a month before it dried out. I bought some "Venom" worm glue in a glass bottle and it was dried up when I got home.Took it back and ALL the bottles the shop had were like that....so I still have doubts about the longevity of the stuff...
  4. The high speed jet is plugged...you need a special screw driver to remove it with out damaging it. One can be made in a pinch but be careful.
  5. Make sure the pawl on your level wind isn't wore out or dirty. Some bait-casters seem to put more on one side than the other for some reason.
  6. Had a Bill Dance hook remover..loved it. It could have been a little longer. I saved many a fish that had swallowed the hook. It went up thru the gills and grap the hook and then twist it out..awesome! Naturally I dropped it overboard last year , but replaced it with another brand with I haven't used yet. One of the best pieces of tackle to own in my opinion just for the fishes sake.
  7. The Zebco ZO3 comes with a spare spool....
  8. I tear all my reels down in the fall and throw all the parts in a 5 gallon bucket. Gives me something to do in the spring figuring out what goes to what..... J/K
  9. You will have trouble with ANY spincast if you reel it in with no weight and slack in your line. The line gets all wadded up on the spool. I try to teach my wife and others to pinch the line between her fingers as she reels in...also cleans off the gunk. I even do this with my baitcasters when the cotton woods are in bloom or the duck weed is bad....
  10. I have a ZO 3 I bought for my wife and it is bullet proof...If she can't screw it up, no one can! ;D Other spincasters I have bought her ( Diawa, Abu ) all seem to have issues. I would not be afraid of the Pro model but dont like the single handle that much.
  11. That does look like some shoddy workmanship.... :-[
  12. Zoom super flukes and Cabela's Agua-glow Hoochie-Choochie Shad.
  13. I change mine every spring when I'm cleaning and lubing my reels. Probably not really necessary but I do it anyway. Used to leave it on forever until I started doing my own maintenance and never seemed to be a problem.
  14. My Brother...He almost always out fishes me from the back of my boat. It inspires me to try to be better with my technique....
  15. I am left handed to write...but right handed for almost everything else. I cast with my right and switch to the left hand to reel. The right is my power hand..I'm sure i could crank a lefty but it wouldn't feel good. Also don't think the hook set would be as good. Like I said..I'm screwed up but you gotta do what feels right. Its called enjoyment...
  16. Where would one get Silica Gel sachets? Other than in some packaging.....
  17. I use Owner hooks and they will rust if I leave plastics on for an extended length of time...Took them all of this year.
  18. I see its finally on there website...Nothing to get me to drive 2 hours for...
  19. For me it was to finally try using jigs. I just did not like even the thought of them, now they are one of my go to techniques...
  20. I started saving my old plastics with the intent of melting them down and making new ones. Not so much to save money, put for the fun of making my own designed bait.
  21. Good tip, but instead of using a stone, I would use various grit wet or dry sand paper on a piece of glass. I use this method to sharpen my chisels.
  22. That sucks ! I'm in the same boat, never gave it a thought. Wonder if Reel Magic is the same ? :'(
  23. I have an old original flatfish lure and I can remember one day that it was the only thing I caught a bass on. Still throw it once in awhile.
  24. I am not ashamed to admit I use Senco's on almost every outing. When I was a kid I used one of those pre-rigged rubber worms, that's about all there was soft bait wise. Caught a lot of Bass on those stupid things. So when Senco's came out it seemed natural to me to use them the same way. That said, I try to use everything in my arsenal when I go out just to see what works the best for ME that day. Sometimes it might be a Senko and sometimes not...
