  6. I would like to get my brother and brother in=law a couple of lures for x-mas. I know they would never buy these for them selves so it would be a little unique. My question is what would be best for a couple of newbies . Also color would help if youve had a lot of luck with a certain color. I like the look of the REAL VIBE lure, but dont Kow if there worth a hoot. One choice is a jerkbait as I like them myself. Thanks for your help, Jim

  10. I bought a Hitachi for my son last year. It was the cheapest one I could find that used the small DVD-R and DVD-RAM for rewriteable. He loves it. The good thing about it is you can pop it out and put it in your computer witout cables. Thats what he wanted. Jim
  11. Here in upstate NY there is a fish virus going around called VHS. Heard it on the radio yesterday how it is in some of the lakes up here. That's all we need! Jim
  12. Thanks for the replies and I think Ill wait for Santa. Jim
  13. Any advise on these reels? They are on sale now for 49.99 at Basspro and I would like to try one as a first baitcaster. Am also thinking of the 7.1 ratio, is that a good choice? I will be using it for small cranks and senkos on a 6'6" MH rod. Thanks for any opinions. I was asking Santa for a Citica for X-mas befor I ran across this. Thanks Jim
  14. My brother and I hit Kueka lake NY Saturday morning at first light. We launched at the State Park in Branchport. It was so foggy we just started down the shore with the trolling motor. My Bro caught a 3# LM and I lost what was probrobly the biggest fish of the year for me. My knot broke. I SUCK at knot tying, 4 years in the Navy and I still can't tie a knot. But my point is when the fog lifted the bite quit. If we hadnt went early, we more than likely would have got skunked. To me, its well worth going early. Jim
